Glenorchy Sport and Recreation Strategy

Stage 1 Consultation has concluded. Have your say on the draft sport and recreation strategy.

Glenorchy City Council invites you to help us develop the Glenorchy Sport and Recreation Strategy. The Sport and Recreation Strategy will provide a road map for the future development of sporting and recreation reserves and facilities in the City of Glenorchy, for the next 20 years.

We invite you to Have Your Say and contribute your ideas about the Glenorchy Sport and Recreation Strategy by completing one of the surveys below.

Whether you are a member, a casual or a non-user of our sport and recreation reserves and facilities, whether you prefer walking your dog, biking or bushwalking. We want to hear from you.

Help us understand what you think are the most important aspects of sport and recreation in the City of Glenorchy. Have your say today.

This consultation is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated.

The Sport and Recreation Strategy will produce a new vision for sport and recreation facilities and services in Glenorchy. In developing this vision, the Strategy will answer the following questions:

  • Where are we now?
  • Where are we going?
  • Where do we want to be (and by when)?
  • How do we get from here to there?
  • How do we measure our progress?

Council has engaged Otium Planning Group (Sport and Leisure Planning Consultancy) to prepare the Strategy. Otium will also be undertaking interviews and workshops with key stakeholders over the coming months.

As an additional request on behalf of the Arrogone Archery club, it would be most useful to have a location nearby for us to use to shoot indoors at least once a week as a second venue. Indoor archery only requires a target distance of 18m-20m and can be set up in any gym or sports hall.
