Urban Trees in the City of Glenorchy

Consultation has concluded

When you're walking to the park on a hot day can you find a cool tree to rest under?

Having the right trees in the right places is important for our city. Trees provide multiple benefits including shade, beauty, clean air, human health and well-being, flood reduction and food and homes for wildlife – just to name a few. There can also be downsides to having trees particularly in urban environments where there may be many different users occupying a small space.

Council is developing its first urban tree strategy to provide direction for the management of trees on Council land in the urban area of the City of Glenorchy.

To help us develop our urban tree strategy, we want to know what you think. What are your priorities when it comes to trees in our urban areas?

When you’re out and about this summer, take a moment to look around so you can tell us about your favourite trees, in our streets, playgrounds, parks and reserves.

The quick poll and survey are now closed. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback.
