SAMP Breakdown

Glenorchy City Council aims to provide the services needed by the Glenorchy community in a financially sustainable way. Achieving this requires balancing service levels with cost and risk. We want you to have your say on how we do this.

We've extended the survey deadline so you can have your say and ask any questions you may have. You can download the Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and take our short survey. Or please contact our Manager Infrastructure, Engineering and Design, Patrick Marshall via 6216 6800 or gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au. Survey closes 5pm Monday 1 May.

We know these plans and documents can be a lot to take in, so here's a breakdown of some of the information in the SAMP:

What Assets Do We Have?

Page 10 lists the 'assets' that Council manages. Assets are items of property owned by Council that have value (like roads, footpaths, buildings, playgrounds etc.)
These assets provide the foundation for the community to carry out everyday life, and contribute to overall quality of life.

State Of Our Assets

Page 15 & 16 provide lots of information on the state of our assets and what it costs to maintain them over years. There are a lot of graphs and numbers! Feel free to call us if you would like to ask any questions.

Asset Management Objectives and Vision

Page 22 & 23 detail the actions we will deliver to make sure we are matching community expectations. You can also find information here on how we will develop and maintain assets in order to provide the level of service the community need at present and into the future (page 30-32 also detail how we will manage future demand).

Community Satisfaction
In order to continuously gain a better understanding of community satisfaction in Glenorchy, Council has decided to undertake an annual survey on satisfaction levels. On page 26 you can see the results of the Future Direction and Budget Survey that guides the SAMP.

Risk Management

If Risk Management is your thing pages 39-42 detail our risk assessment and treatment processes.
