Why talk to us?
Your feedback will help inform the decisions we make and guide the future of the City of Glenorchy.
To make Glenorchy a better place for us all to live, work and play we need to work together to develop solutions to the challenges we all face.
By talking to us you can help us understand how decisions, projects and proposals affect you.
We understand that people live busy lives and have many different competing priorities. We want to provide a range of opportunities for you to share your views and help us make decisions about things that affect you.
Let’s talk, Glenorchy is your space to share ideas and provide feedback on issues and projects.
Why do we require registration to contribute to projects?
By registering and telling us a bit about yourself, you help us understand our community better, it gives you a direct line to us to make sure that your views on community issues and matters are heard, and it helps us to understand how a project may affect different parts of our community.
It also means we can keep you updated on important project news and how community comments have contributed to decisions made by Council.
It means we know that you are a real person with genuine responses and opinions.
Registering on Let’s talk, Glenorchy is quick and simple with just a few questions that help us understand who is participating.
We will ask for a username, email and suburb, plus a couple of demographic questions.
Our Let’s Talk, Glenorchy team are happy to assist with your registration – you can call 6216 6800, email letstalk@gcc.tas.gov.au or visit us at 374 Main Road Glenorchy to be taken through the process.
Please note that your personal details remain private (please see our privacy policy).
What is my screen name (username)?
Your screen name will appear with your comments in some of the tools that we use. When you register you can still comment anonymously by using a screen name that does not identify you. All other information provided to us is kept confidential and only used under the Terms and Conditions.
You can always change your username too - instructions for this can be found here.
What happens to my feedback?
Your feedback is collated along with other comments, ideas and suggestions and is used to inform Council decisions. It will be used to develop various Council strategies, projects and programs. By participating you will help provide valuable insights into community views and opinions around different issues. This does not mean that every suggestion will be incorporated every time, but it will help us weigh up different options.
Online data is used alongside feedback collected through face to face consultation activities such as workshops, stakeholder group meetings, Community Yarns and pop up events.
How is Let’s talk, Glenorchy moderated?
All moderation is carried out by our service provider Bang the Table and is independent to the City of Glenorchy. The moderators do not edit or alter any comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, offensive or malicious, in which case they are removed from the site immediately. Bang the Table notify the contributor d and explain the reasons for removing the comment. For further information we suggest you refer to the guidelines at the 'Moderation' tab in the menu bar at the bottom of the page.
