The Department of State Growth is upgrading the intersection of the Brooker Highway, Duncan Street and Foreshore Road in Montrose.
The Brooker Highway - Montrose Foreshore Intersection Upgrade project will improve safety for all road users by installing traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.
Installing traffic signals at this intersection will lower the risk of crashes and enhance safety for all road users in the area, including pedestrians.
Left-turn lanes between the Brooker Highway and Foreshore Road will further improve access to Montrose Bay High School, Montrose Foreshore Community Park, the Glenorchy Rowing Club and the Montrose Yacht Club.
The Tasmanian Government and Australian Government have jointly committed funding for the construction of this project through the Road Safety Program. Works are expected to start in early to mid-2025.
We will continue to engage with key stakeholders, impacted landowners and nearby residents as the project moves closer to construction.
