The LGBTIQA+ advisory group will be 5-10 LGBTIQA+ community members, GCC staff and representatives from LGBTIQA+ organisations.
The LGBTIQA+ advisory group will guide Council's LGBTI@A+ Inclusion Community Engagement, including a public survey.
There will be several meetings held over 6-8 months. The format and time of these meetings will be agreed by the group.
Participation is voluntary, however participants who are attending separately from their employment may be reimbursed for the costs of attending.
The LGBTIQA+ advisory group will guide development of a Statement of Commitment and recommend action points to make Glenorchy City Council more inclusive for LGBTIQA+ people.
Advisory group participants must be over 18 years old. Priority will be given to people who are a regular part of Glenorchy community - either living, working or studying in the Glenorchy LGA, from Moonah to Austins Ferry and out to Collinsvale, and from diverse lived experience.
LGBTIQA+ community members are valued. Glenorchy City Council values diversity and works towards making Glenorchy a safe and wonderful place for all community members.
