Glenorchy City Council is developing a masterplan for the Berriedale Peninsula. The masterplan will help ensure the peninsula is developed in such a way that balances the community’s need for open space, recreation and public amenity, with the broader economic and cultural opportunities afforded through the site’s proximity to MONA and its visitors.
The Berriedale Peninsula area includes open space, play facilities, public toilets, picnic shelters and paths. The area also includes Council land that is leased to the Glenorchy City Bowls Club, Glenorchy Tennis Club, the Southern City BMX Club and includes the former caravan park site which is now leased to MONA.
Feedback from local residents and key stakeholders has helped inform the development of the draft masterplan. You can see a quick overview of this feedback in theEngagement Summaryor view more detail in the Draft Masterplan Report.
Given its connection to the Derwent foreshore, its significant public spaces and community facilities, we are keen for you to view the draft masterplan and let us know what you think.
We invite you to complete a short survey about the Berriedale Peninsula or take the quick poll. Your feedback will inform the final masterplan.
This consultation closed Monday 30 November. Thank you for your feedback.
The final draft of the Berriedale Peninsula Masterplan was approved by Council at the meeting on the 21st December 2020. View the masterplan.
