Investigations into the Potential Disposal of 16a Camden Crescent, Moonah

Glenorchy City Council has sought feedback from the community about the potential disposal of Council owned land at 16a Camden Crescent, Moonah (the Land), by way of long-term lease to the Returned Services League Tasmania (R.S.L Tasmania) for the purposes of veteran transition housing. The proposed land is zoned as “General Residential” under the Planning Scheme and is shown outlined in purple in the map below.


Before deciding whether to proceed with the formal land disposal process, as set out in section 178 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council officers have sought feedback from the community this feedback will assist in the development of a report and recommendation to Council on whether to proceed to the next stage of disposal.  This report will be considered by Council at a future Council Meeting in 2025.



If approved, the next stage of the process will be for officers to advertise the disposal formally through a section 178 process set out in the Local Government Act 1993. This will be advertised via Council’s website and Facebook page as well as in the Mercury, in the Council Chambers and a notice placed on the property to provide all residents with the opportunity to object to any proposal.
